The annual Taste of DelCom event was held on April 23rd in the Delta High School Axillary Gym. There were over 40 chefs who paraded around the gym and then each served their favorite recipes to a large group of guests. The food was outstanding! A favorite chef was chosen by who received the most tips. This year the “master chef” was Mr. Steve Hall who served up his delightful strawberry salad. mmmm! It was delicious! He was awarded the “coveted” – “Looney Lunch Lady ” bobble head doll.
The Master of Ceremonies was Jason “slooby” Sloan! The guest speaker featured Delta Alumnus, Troy Patton, Managing Director of the Archer Funds. He delivered an inspirational message for both students and parents.
Of course the highlight of the evening was the Awards Ceremony! The DelCom Foundation Board President, Richard Gill presented DelCom School Superintendent, Mr. Steve Hall an award for his respected leadership of our School District. It was Mr. Hall’s insight that lead to the development of the DelCom Foundation. Stop in the High School to see his honor tile on the Honor Board.
Ms. Linda Razmic accepted a post humus award for former educator Joyce Horst, honoring her for her money donation to our foundation and her dedication and hard work in the foundation, especially the “Dollars For Scholars” Program.
Mr. Don Patton, former wrestling coach at Delta High School was honored by his son Troy and several of the former Delta Wrestlers.
Mr. Paul Orchard, a Delta High School teacher was chosen and honored by the senior class.
This year the DelCom Foundation awarded 6 student grants and 25 teachers were awarded grants. Debbie Pike and Susan Lee were awarded for their cafeteria services.
The DelCom Foundation thanks all who attended the event and for all donations. We look forward to supporting our schools in the future.
Thanks for helping our Eagles to soar!
